Build your HVAC website brief

Sixteen questions, about ten minutes. The brief is created in your browser and nothing is sent to Ventquorix unless you choose to email it to us. Use it with any designer.

The brief builder turns your answers into a plain text website brief covering your business, goals, booking method, maintenance plan, financing, proof you can show and practical details like budget and launch timing. Download it or copy it, then share it with whoever builds your site.

Why write a brief first?

A brief is the cheapest way to get a better website. It forces the decisions that otherwise get made by accident during design: which services lead, which towns matter, how booking should work, and what proof you can show honestly. Designers can quote more accurately from a brief, and you can compare quotes on the same basis.

1. Your business

Trade focus (tick all that apply)

2. What the site must do

Top goals (pick up to three)

3. Content and proof
4. Practical details

Your answers stay in this browser tab.

How to get the most from your brief

  • Be specific about towns. "Most of the county" is less useful than "the county seat and the four towns north of it, plus heat pump installs anywhere within 40 minutes."
  • Write down how booking works today. Even "the office calls back within an hour" helps a designer plan the right flow.
  • List the proof you actually have. Real reviews, real photos and license numbers are worth more than any design detail.
  • Be honest about budget. A range helps a designer suggest the right scope instead of guessing.

Privacy note

This page does not send your answers anywhere. The brief is created by a small script running in your browser, and the download file is generated on your device. Closing the tab clears it. See the privacy notice for how we handle anything you choose to send us.

What each section of the brief is for

Your business

Your name, current site, trade focus, service area and license numbers tell a designer what kind of company you are and which rules apply. License numbers matter because several states require them in advertising, as our license number guide explains.

What the site must do

Your top goals decide which pages lead and which actions are most prominent. A company chasing replacement estimates needs a different home page from one trying to grow maintenance plan members. Your booking method and plan details decide how much integration work is needed.

Content and proof

Real photos and real reviews are the raw material of trust. Knowing what you have early prevents a design that depends on photos you do not own or testimonials you cannot use.

Practical details

Sign off, launch timing and budget keep the project realistic. If you want to launch before the next heating season, the designer can plan backwards from that date.

After you have your brief

Send the same brief to every designer you are considering. Ask each one to respond with a page list, what they need from you, a timeline and a price. Comparing responses to the same brief is far easier than comparing proposals built on different assumptions. Our HVAC website cost guide lists questions to ask alongside it.
